In Ethiopia, Efuye Gela Media Productions is embarking on an Impact Campaign with among us women for suitable solutions to improve maternal health and care and go for women’s empowerment.
Thereby we aim to reach out to the public at large and in particular to health professionals – trainee and professional midwives, health officials and decision makers, organizations and agencies.
Although Maternal Care stands as the prime focus of among us women, it sheds as well light on intersecting issues women in rural Ethiopia face such as Harmful Traditional Practices i.e. Female Genital Mutilation, child marriage, lack of girls education and in addition unfruitful gender dynamics between the sexes. It touches hearts and moves minds in favor of women and motivates to contribute for change of women’s life.
SCREENINGS
By screening the film countrywide, mostly coupled with interactive dialogues, we raise awareness for the needs of expectant mothers during pregnancy, birthing and beyond. We motivate to listen to their voices and to provide space for safe choices of their own.

ACCESSIBILITY OF THE FILM
We aim to work toward making the film available in four additional languages: Tigrigna, Oromigna, and Somaligna for Ethiopia and Kiswahili for other East African nations.
Furthermore, we want to pursue and incorporate an audio description for visually impaired people as well as sign language for hearing-impaired people.
